Texas Rodent Academy teaches a focused & standardized approach to rodent population management through Integrated Pest Management (IPM).

This course is intended for pest management professionals, municipalities, universities, public schools, and food safety personnel involved in rodent control programs.

Course prerequisites: Academy students should have a basic understanding of rodent control principles (biology and behavior, rodenticides, traps, etc.). It is suggested that supervisors, managers, and owners attend the Academy and teach their employees. The Academy is not designed or appropriate for new hire training.

Speakers:

  • Mr. Tim Madere, Rodent Specialist, City Of New Orleans Mosquito, Rodent, & Termite Control Board
  • Mr. Ed Dorsham, Technical Director, AP&G
  • Dr. Mike Merchant & Janet Hurley with other experts on rodenticides and rodent control

We will also have demonstrations on digital rodent sensing monitoring systems.  Please wear comfortable shoes and clothes appropriate for the field. Bring a flash light, if you have one.

Continuing Education Credits:  Structural Pest Control Credits will be given for those participants who request them.

Please see “Three-Day Training Course in Rat Management” for important details and course content.
